video: Covering Day 7 of the People's Convoy
It was "open mic" night Tuesday March 1
after a long day's drive from Cuba, Missouri
to Monrovia, Indiana.
Drivers were asked to tell their stories...
why... did they join the convoy to DC.
These are not sophisticated kinds of folks
but each speaker gave us something good to hear.
There is a lot of hurt going on out there.
This driver... wrote a poem. (@2:00:00)
Jericho.
"I noticed that when we were driving out here
there are a lot of these truckers talkin' about Jericho
and we're taking that DC down like Jericho is going down.
So... just a few minutes ago... these words kinda came to me.
Joshua picked the battle and we're gonna do the same.
We're runnin' as the remnant of Christ Jesus, with his name.
We're easing up the hammer because this convoy got so long
But we're headed for DC.
We're runnin' peaceful... but we're strong.
In fact, the forces of the dark side are amazed at our tenacity.
They're runnin' scared because we came together... unity.
Nothin's gonna stop us... we... the people. We agree.
We're on a mission for our country
And we'll be nothing less than... FREE !!
And when we get to that DC...
Those horns are gonna blow that DC and crumble that ground
Cuz they're comin' down
And it's comin' across... loud and clear..."
Then she blows a real-life ram's horn.
The next speaker gets up to speak...
tells a story about changing his school board policies
and after a few victories, people stopped showing up.
"I was really feeling defeated.
And who would know that it took a bunch of Canadians
truck drivers... to rally along...
and to finally get people to ... start showing up!
Awesome! I don't feel defeated any more... I feel empowered!
We are going to show up... and show them...
that the matter is... not... lost.
We... the people... are in charge.
You work... for... us.
You work... for... us.
You work... for... us.
Thank you, each and every one of you.
You give me a restored faith in humanity, and in America.
The liberty bell is ringing... and it sounds like a truck horn."
The next speaker says:
"People have asked me...
'I wish there was something we could do'...
or... 'what can we do to show our support?'
And then I recalled... many years ago...
a poem... "The Midnight Ride of Paul Revere"
In the bell towers... when they had two lanterns...
one... by land... two... by sea.
Well, this People's Convoy... is by land.
So... before we left... I took a lantern
and I put it in the front window of our house
and I encourage all of them... to tell their friends and family...
to light a lantern or put a light in the front window of their home...
each and every night... because it will represent...
the light of FREEDOM.
And so I encourage you to tell your friends... everyone...
to light that lantern...
encourage them to have that light of freedom.
Other remarks:
"The reason I'm here... is that... if ya'll haven't noticed...
for the last six years the demon-crats
have been trying to destroy America.
My grandpa did not go to war and get captured by the Germans
for me to sit by and keep my mouth shut... or bow down.
I've said this to several people...
never bow down, because once you do
they're gonna kick you down.
Now you heard me say, 'Demon-crats'
that's because 'Demon-crats' in office...
are full of hate... anger...
they want to destroy us.
They can not... and will never...
We have to stay strong.
We have to stand up and fight for our rights.
In the last four years with Trump...
it was never about him.
It was about... us.
It was about all of us... all the people in the United States.
This is what they don't want.
They don't want us to unite.
They want to try to divide us.
The hate that you see on the TV...
it's not like that in the United States.
It... is... not.
This is the United States... right here.
God bless America.
Thank you, for supporting the United States."
Another:
reading from a card sent from someone in America...
on the back of the card, a scripture:
IITimothy 1-7
"For God has not given us a spirit of fear
but of power... and of love... and of a sound mind."
"Amen.
Listen guys, this movement for us...
we're not anti-vaxxers... we're about choice.
But we believe that in order to make a proper choice
the American people ought to know the truth...
so that they can make a sound choice."
Another:
"We're here for all of those people." (the people losing jobs and careers)
"So, I'm just proud that we're standing up.
Our voice... one voice... a common voice... we scare DC.
They're afraid of that, because we are powerful when we're together.
They thought they could scare us
by locking up the J-6 detainees for over a year.
They thought that would keep us from standing up.
We're doing it anyway.
They thought they could stop the Canadian truckers
and we wouldn't show up.
We're doing it anyways.
They're afraid of us.
They're afraid of us.
So anything they throw at us... it's all out of fear...
and we are not afraid.
We have faith over fear.
We have freedom over fear.
Another:
"I'd rather die on my feet than live on my knees.
And I have something to say for Joe...
'We're comin' for your ass.'
Another: @ 2:55:00
"Hey everyone, my name is Donna... and I'm not a warrior...
but I am a fierce Mama Bear.
My son Beckham is at home tonight... sleeping.
He's 19 months old. He can't be here to thank you
and so, I came here... for him... to thank you.
Thank you, truckers... thank you, people
thank you everybody who has come out to support this movement.
I can't wait to tell Beckham about how we made history.
I'm gonna tell him stories about the miles and miles and miles
of people who came out to support you...
people from all races... all religions... all ethnicities.
I laughed with strangers. I cried with strangers.
I felt chills down my spine all damn day because of you.
Two years ago when I had him
and I watched these freedoms be taken away from us
I thought... what as a mother do I do
to make sure that he has the same opportunities that I had.
I come from nothing. I was adopted.
My parents worked three jobs to put my brother and I
in private school so that we could have a better life.
And here I stand today as a successful business owner
because of this God-forsaken country that I love.
America... has given me that opportunity.
And our truckers are gonna give my son that opportunity.
I read something and it said,
'The science has changed.'
...It got 18 wheels."
(some mask mandates were eliminated for the state of union speech)
So... on behalf of all of us...
all... the mama bears out there...
all... the papa bears...
who didn't know how to do something...
who didn't know how to stand up...
and fight for our kids...
I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart
for giving us all an outlet...
to feel like we have a chance to be part of history
and a part of freedom... and a part of a movement.
I would like to offer a prayer up for all of you...
if you would bow your heads...
Dear God... I just want to thank you
for giving us all the courage to be here today...
for the strength to stand up
against what we had been taught was wrong...
but we know is right.
I want to thank you for these courageous truckers
who I know are sacrificing time, money, and resources
to do this for our country.
May our founding fathers look up
and be so proud of everything that they have done for us...
and may you watch over them
and bless them with safety and security
for the rest of this ride. Amen.
Another:
"The Bible says in Genesis 50:20...
You intended to harm me...
but God intended it for good."
Another:
"And honestly... I think that it is just absolutely incredible...
that God's holy army... is a bunch of dirty truck drivers."
