Gardening is a favorite subject of mine. Many years ago, I had saved a video
of a guy in Australia who had designed a deer proof garden that was some
sort of pavillion made of fencing... and sectioned off into 6 inner sections.
The fence covered even the top of the pavillion. The top itself was tall enough for
him to grow a citrus tree inside. Each inside section had a gate to it - like a keyhole garden magnified... into 6 connected gardens. It was designed for a rotating
growing season, spacing each garden about two months apart, which provided
a constant harvest.
After he had harvested one of the sections, he would put two hens inside with
the scraps and throw-offs of veggies. So, the chickens did the clean up and
even worked the soil for the next growing season. It was an interesting idea
and I wanted to save it for reference.
I didn't find it, but I got side-tracked by some other deer fence ideas that were
coming up in the searches. There's got to be a cheaper way to protect a
country garden from predators. Maybe plant them their own garden?
I like the living fences.
Happy gardening.
