An explorer of graveyards and historical places...
YT channel "Sidestep Adventures Into History"...
invites a local historian to tell the story of this old mansion.
This "plantation house" as it is being called...
appears to be dated back to the 1840's and was renovated
(by virtue of a chimney marked "1878") (@1:01:10)
and then renovated again turn of the century, 1910,
and possibly again... at some point. Toilet is dated 1948.
The video is rich with interesting clues as to dates
Plumbing wasn't included in homes until after 1910.
Square nails are all signs of early builds.
The historian tells a lot of date specific details on the build.

You couldn't build too close to rivers or creeks
because of the danger of flooding
so water was carried by the tin bucket to the house.

For a hillside spring... they built spring houses
or a stone catch-all trough that fills up... to dip a bucket in to.
Or... a pipe can be stuck into the spring... to fill like a faucet.

Cisterns and wells... were built by a community or a builder.
Walls of the well were lined with bricks... with holes...
which allowed water to seep in... and then be collected.
