My note:
I came across the videos of the
YouTube channel "ras ible" many years
ago. This navy veteran was pulling a rickshaw across the country as an
activist for legalizing medical marijuana. Marijuana enabled him to
break an addiction to hard drugs. He told stories of recovering disabled
veterans whose only social outlet is through their computer...
who hoped medical marijuana would help them live their lives.
As he traveled the highways, he was always stopped by
the police, and he began recording his encounters with them.
I went back to his channel for a refresh... and... he's made a movie.
He has written a book, as well.
His latest video is... the video evidence of a nightclub bust...
where he was arrested for... passing a pipe of marijuana.
He was sentenced to 15 to 30 years.
He is now asking for information from anyone who was at the
nightclub that night... to come forward and help him win a pardon
from the governor.
"If anyone watching this video spots any other anomalies, please leave a comment. Thank you so much for watching. One last thing, there are a lot of good police officers out there. Just once in a while you get those who go rouge. Those are the ones where nobody is safe. Peace up.
"ATTENTION: Looking for any patrons who witnessed the raid on July 24, 1999, to please contact me or the FBI.
Lawrence E. Scible's book "Butt Naked"
"Beneath the cloaks of Liberty-n-Justice lurks...whoredom.
Strippers, prostitution, drugs and public corruption in the
backwoods of West Virginia. Follow the rise and fall of the Cadillac Ranch, whose ordeal exposes our system of law and
order, where Uncle Sam may be...the greatest pimp of all!"
The book begins:
Chapter 1
Every night, as the steel door slams, enclosing me within an eight
by twelve foot solid block cell, I often wonder when it will end.
Even after eight years in prison, hidden in the mountainous terrain
of West Virginia, where, if I look around, there are fences and razor
wire everywhere, I find myself unable to grasp the reality of it all.
I am a convict, serving a 12-30 year sentence for simply sharing marijuana smoke, via passing a pipe.
From the video description:
"The Cadillac Ranch had two (2) VHS video surveillance systems,
(A) and (B). Surveillance system's (A) and (B) videotapes were seized
from the Cadillac Ranch by the West Virginia State Police, on July 24, 1999, during an illegal raid on the club. The Ranch was formerly located in Sugar Grove, WV. Both videotapes (A) and (B) are not complete and have been heavily redacted and modified by police to hide crucial evidence in the case of State of West Virginia vs. Lawrence Scible, Criminal Action No. 99-F-14, Pendleton County, WV. Most of my surveillance videotape footage has never
been released and is being unlawfully withheld by the WVSP.
"The person police were yelling at wasn't me. It was a drunk customer.
Police modified the audio to make it look like it was me they were yelling at. Fooled my lawyer. Moreover, the audio track was redacted to hide police conversations. Also, there should not be any music playing after police
enter the building. I was Deejaying when police came through the door
and I turned the music off when they announced "Police, search warrant."
But if you listen closely, there is music playing in the background. These redactions were affirmed by affidavit from forensic expert Fred Heller, Esq
and testimony from my habeas corpus attorney, Timothy Zirk, Esq.
"The video also shows police and the prosecutor lied they did not make a
list of customers names who were present during the raid. At 17:26 you
can hear an officer ask a patron for identification. There were two (2) officers taking patron's name. You can see patrons handing their identification
to police as they were being frisked. At one point, both officers with the
clipboard walks into view of the camera holding a clipboard, as the last
person leaves the building.
"These patrons were material witnesses discoverable under Brady vs. Maryland. After I was imprisoned, I learned many of the customers that night, were off
duty correctional officers from the State of Virginia. Many of these officers
could have testified they never witnessed drugs and/or prostitution at the
Cadillac Ranch. The case came down to who had the best witnesses and
explains why police hid the patron's identification. No wonder people don't
trust police and/or the courts any longer.
"The video surveillance systems were installed to protect me from WVSP police who had been stalking and terrorizing the business. Because police tampered with my videotape evidence, they were able to fabricate their case against me. The FBI, Federal Courts, and the West Virginia Supreme Court all turned a blind eye to this abuse of power. Thus, I was wrongfully imprisoned for 15 years, on a fabricated non-violent cannabis offense.
"Please call WV Governor Jim Justice, and ask him to grant me a full pardon and reverse this unlawful conviction and/or grant me a new trial."
From the video description:
After serving 15 years in a WV prison for a few ounces of pot, I walked
across the State in a peaceful protest to end cannabis prohibition. For the
mission, I constructed a rickshaw with a billboard, and walked it around
until I was released from parole. Taking my story nationally, I built a
walkable house, and walked across America. I was stopped by police over
200 times. Starting in Spokane, Washington, and ending in Washington, DC,
the journey lasted almost two (2) years, and covered over 4000 miles
coast to coast.
