A Swedish Garden

Sara Baackmo owns a Florist Shop in Sweden.
Since it is a small shop, she takes special orders that larger shops won't take.
She was asked to make a funeral wreath and a casket spray
made of all natural components... and that had spring flowers.
This was February, but the shop had a cellar of tulip bulbs ready to use.
Her creation was so beautiful... that I cried as she made it.

I had gone looking for an alternative to the use of manure in gardens.
I've enjoyed watching people work their gardens... learning their techniques...
but... the thought of carrots growing in composted manure... yea... no...
I began to think... if it can still be called "manure"...
maybe we ought not be using it in our gardens...?
I went looking for... alternatives to feeding a garden with manure.
Ya... the grass is always greener over the manure patch...
and the ammonia content in chicken poop is admired by all...
but... when poop is dropped in a field... it is distant from other piles...
not concentrated and unable to neutralize with other organic matter.
The more I thought about it... the more I did not like it.
Sara has solved the problem for her own garden.
She had had no way to haul manure to her large garden...
so from her own studies she developed a strategy to feed her garden...
She makes a tea from nettle and weeds and waters with a diluted mixture...
(feeding the garden right before a rain... because it stinks plenty bad).
She mulches with grass, leaves, weeds, sheep wool, and cuts from plants.
She shaves her head...
and so... when I saw the "funeral arrangement" video
I wondered if it was her own funeral this was about...
because she may be undergoing cancer treatments.
So far... I think she's okay... three kids, a husband, and a florist shop.
I think I'll enjoy watching her videos on flowers... and gardening.
